Realistic Games Advances in the UK Market
Realistic Games Ltd (ReGaL) the Oxfordshire-based supplier of online slot games announced this week that the company is now the proud holder of a Remote Gambling Software Operating Licence issued by the UK Gambling Commission, in accordance with the new gambling licencing laws.
The British company, along with other leading U.S. iGaming software providers like Amaya, Scientific Games, and IGT comprise the first batch of online casino game suppliers that will continue to offer gaming technology and content to UK-licenced remote gambling operators. As it is, the British gambling industry is about to go through a transition period starting October 2014, in preparation for the full imposition of the new gambling laws on December 2014.
Andy Harris, ReGaL’s Commercial Director commented that they have worked closely with the UKGC throughout the application process. Passing “the most stringent tests of probity and due diligence,” is a significant achievement for the company.
Mr. Harris explained that in becoming a bonafide UK-licenced remote gaming software provider well ahead of other casino games suppliers, they have afforded customers the benefit of having one less compliance matter to contend with in attending to their own operator licencing application. Mr. Harris voiced his company’s hopes that potential customers will see such an achievement as another positive reason for choosing ReGaL as a new gaming content supplier.
ReGaL is well-known in the remote gambling industry as an online slot developer whose approach to content distribution is by partnering only with highly-reputable and well-established operators. Its roster of customers includes Bet365, Ladbrokes, William Hill, Betfred, BetVictor, Locus Gaming, Paddy Power, Boylesports, StanJames, Sportingbet and Jack Gold.
Although ReGaL’s initial foray in the remote gaming business was by distributing games supplied by third party content providers, the company decided to develop its collection of online gaming content. Starting 2008, Realistic Game’s team of gaming technology experts spent two years developing the Realistic Games Library, for which the brand ReGaL was coined.
From then on, Realistic Games Ltd carried on with distribution deals by deploying in-house produced gaming content through its own gaming platform, as well as owning all Intellectual Property (IP) rights to all gaming content supplied to its select group of customers. Through a simple process of one-point integration, customers can have access to all the games included in the ReGaL portfolio.
ReGaL’s reputation as a notable provider of game content was enhanced when it won eGaming Review’s 2014 B2B Awards in two categories, the “Innovation in Mobile Award” to which pioneer gaming software provider Microgaming came in only as Highly Commendable, and the “Innovation in Slot Provision Award.”
Among the company’s most recent business feats are the games distribution deal inked with Gaming Realms for PocketFruity.com, and with Intellectual Property and Software Limited (IPS) for the distribution of ReGaL’s full suite of contents in all IPS brands. ReGal also expanded its gaming services to BetVictor and Boylesports by developing mini game versions of its blackjack and roulette games, which were embedded right on the betting operator’s online sportsbook in time for the recently held 2014 World Cup Event.
Realistic Games also released a number of online slot contents early this year, including the highly successful “6 Appeal” that went live in mobile and desktop channels at Bet365, BetVictor and Ladbrokes. The 5-reel slot became an instant hit, and easily made progress as one of ReGaL’s top three revenue earners. In addition, ReGaL launched the innovative mobile version of the popular lottery-style Pull Tab and Keno games.
