British Wagermill and Aussie Gaming Lab, Merge to Form UK-Based GECO Gaming
Wagermill a private games development company based in Surrey, UK and The Gaming Lab (TGL), an independent provider of traditional land-based and online gaming content located in Sydney, Australia, have agreed to join forces and form a company called GECO Gaming, to operate in London and Sydney.
The goal of the two independent gaming companies is to combine the skills and industry knowledge of their development teams, in order to come up with a broad and diverse collection of Flash and HTML5 games. The portfolio of games will include slot, bingo, and other types of casino gaming entertainment, which the new company will globally promote and deploy via an innovative Remote Gaming Server (RGS) back-end system called Game Engine Co-Operative or GECO. Actually, other independent international games development entities that include MX Digital, The Games Company, Game Weavers, and Lightning Box Games just to name a few, will collaborate in GECO Gaming’s initiatives.
As an independent developer, provider and integrator of quality-assured premium content, the Gaming Lab prides itself for being globally renowned in supplying games in varied styles, ranging from traditional Australian pokies, to games with story lines, and multi-layered games whether for offline, online or mobile gaming. The CEO of The Gaming Lab, Aaron Neill-Stevens, remarked that merging with WagerMill and collaborating with a UK business that possesses their industry knowledge and background is “absolutely the right step forward for The Gaming Lab.”
He added that the Wagermill-Gaming Lab union would demonstrate that when game developers work together, massive benefits for everyone could be achieved. He divulged that they are currently well under way with “some industry-changing plans around content delivery,” which hold promises of improving the pace and efficiency of bringing future game contents to the online gambling market. Still, the Gaming Lab CEO held back in furnishing details, since they will be coming out with an announcement before the forthcoming ICE Totally Gaming conference in February 2015 at the ExCeL London.
The CEO of Wagermill, Mark Paling, expressed his delight in partnering with The Gaming Lab CEO and his team of developers, because their joint goal is to create a unit that is significantly much larger than the totality of their combined businesses. The British CEO acknowledges that significant changes have taken place in the independent gaming market, for which they have taken steps to place themselves in a position that will allow them to capitalize on those changes. Mr. Paling foresees that the next 12 months will be a very exciting period.
