Senet Group Institutes Social Media Campaign

The UK-based Senet Group, an organization dedicated to responsible and fair gambling standards, has recently launched a social media campaign aimed at educating people to the potential risks of gambling. The Senet Group was created through the efforts and collaboration of Paddy Power, William Hill, Ladbrokes, and Coral in an effort to promote responsible and enjoyable gambling for both experienced players, and a younger audience.

While many are already well-aware of the idea that gambling is a chance to win real money, this campaign focuses on the losing that is often overshadoweed in the gambling industry. Much like alcohol companies do not promote the ill-effects of alcohol, it is the duty of watchdogs like The Senet Group to ensure a responsible atmosphere.

Through this social media campaign a series of humorous and informative videos have been put together to better illustrate the inherent risks of gambling to a younger audience. The videos are easily sharable on Facebook and other social media frequented by younger groups. The campaign was created by award-winning agency, Livity, who specialize in online marketing initiatives. These videos and images will also be prominently displayed around the UK on gaming machines for added exposure and awareness.

The hashtag #GambleSmart can also be seen on yellow and black posters around gaming institutions that carry the same message as the online campaign.

Ron Finlay, Chief Exectutive of the Senet Group, has said that the idea behind the campaign was to show “funny and sharable” messages that also carry serious undertones on the promotion of responsible gambling. It boils down to the idea that in order for gambling to continue to be a legal and entertaining aspect of sports and lifestyles, the risks must be known in order to prevent any issues from arising before they become problems.

The success of the gambling industry depends primarily on peoples’ responsible use of it. It makes sense that the most dedicated to preserving this entertaining pastime are the casinos and bookmakers themselves.
