Epic Monopoly II, as the name suggest, is themed around the popular board game, Monopoly. The board game is, as old as the hills. The first version printed in 1903.

Millions of copies have been sold since, and the game has a massive following. It is little wonder that WMS have decided to make another monopoly themed slot. They have not put much effort into the theme. For example the background, is a red curtain, drawn across a stage.

Developer

WMS developed Epic Monopoly II. They can trace their roots back to the Williams Manufacturing Company, which was founded in 1943.

They began making pinball machines, progressed to arcade games, and today make online slots. They are a wholly owned subsidiary of scientific games. Their games can be hit and miss. WMS can make a good title, but are just as capable of making a bad one.

Design

Epic Monopoly II is an untidy slot. This is because WMS has included some interesting reel mechanics. There are two sets of reels. The main reels have a traditional 5×4 layout. To the right of the main reels are the Colossal Reels, a giant 5×12 set of reels.

Because there are so many symbols on this, all these symbols are very small. All these symbols make the game look untidy. There is too much going on. The reels are the same light green as a Monopoly Board. The picture symbols are based on the pieces moved around a monopoly board.

How to play

The player places their bet before spinning the reels to have it take effect. The two sets of reels, can win independent of one another, and add onto one another, to make bigger wins. Both sets of reels will spin when the player presses the Spin Button.

Wins are played left to right, and a winning combination must begin in the foremost reel to the left, on either set of reels. There are over 100 paylines in this game, which are made using both sets of reels. The majority are tied up in the colossal reels. The player will find more information about paylines in the help menu, which has information, about paylines, betting and symbol value.

Special Features

The Epic Wild symbol will substitute any symbol, in the game except the Bonus Symbol. They make the highest available payline. Epic Monopoly II has an in reel feature which transfers stacks of Epic Wild Symbols, over to the colossal reels. They will expand and fill the entire reel with wilds, which is x12 high. That is a lot of symbols, being substituted and the player should expect to win across multiple paylines.

All of the bonus games are triggered with the Bonus Reel. The Bonus wheel is a bonus game, triggered by landing three Bonus Scatter Symbols on the reels. If the player lands more than three scatter symbols, the player is rewarded, further. It is a wheel of fortune type game, with the prizes on the wheel. There are monetary wins, free spins, or turns for the various bonus games, on offer. The players in if multiplied the player landed more than three scatters and wins money in the bonus wheel. The highest multiplier is 100x times total bet added to the bonus wheel win.

In the Epic Chance Bonus, the player selects between five cards. Under these cards are monetary wins, or like the bonus wheel feature can send the player to other bonuses. The player can be rewarded twenty free spins, ten rolls in the Around the Board Bonus or a monetary value.

The Around the Board Bonus resembles playing a game of monopoly. With some clever animations, WMS have created a bonus game in which the player role a dice and moves around the Monopoly Board. Maximum Payout

The Epic Wild Symbol is the most valuable in the game. Landing five in a row wins the player 250 credits, which is not that big a win. WMS has stated that this game is limited to winning 250,000 coins, per spin. There are definitely big wins, in this game.

Summary

Epic Monopoly II, has some great features, but looks awful. WMS have chosen to include their colossal reels, which bring over 100 paylines to the reels.

They can work in tandem with the main reels to create bigger wins. This game has some interesting features, which players will enjoy. If aesthetics are important to a player, they might want to give this title a miss.
