Comparing mobile technology of the gaming industry with desktop

One of the key stats that comes up when this topic is raised is that about 70% of new users come through the mobile platforms. This is a huge number. Therefore, the main area of focus should be on those that are coming in through mobile devices. The trend is that people are joining in through mobile devices and then find their way to the desktop for better gameplay experience and improving their skills. Though the primary serious product is on the desktop, more acquisitions are coming from mobile devices.

How to create the need to play on mobile devices rather than the desktop

It is now a fact that most people are keeping up on the latest happening through their mobile phones most notably from applications such as Twitter and gaming sites. Just take a recent story in football such as Pep Guardiola joining Manchester City. Sports fans are already looking into next season’s prices. Such events are driving people to visit sites such as sportsbooks. This is quite different for casino and poker as it doesn’t drive the urge.

From the analysis of how users are using the platform, we found out that our assumption that users are using both platforms is totally wrong. In fact, it is only 7 percent of our users use both mobile and desktop. What this shows is that we have two segments of customers. The key difference for users on the two platforms is that the lifetime for mobile users is a little lower than those of desktop users. Therefore, what needs to be done is to adapt the marketing campaign to target the two segments.
