The second annual British Poker Awards will be underway soon, and the nominees have been announced for this year. The ceremony will take place in Hanover Square on the final night of the Poker in the Park festival on September3rd at 3p.m. in London. The awards ceremony will be free to attend.
The nominees chosen across multiple categories were chosen by representatives from Bluff Europe, PokerNews and Jesse May.
Philip Conneller, the editor of Bluff Europe commented on the British Poker Awards, saying “This isn’t about self-congratulatory back-slapping. It’s about honouring the players who have done us so proud on the world stage this year. It’s about applauding the bloggers and social media users who have kept us entertained through a challenging year in poker, and it’s about praising the poker leagues that tirelessly support the game on a grassroots level in the pubs and clubs of Great Britain.”
The competition will be fierce this year, and the most coveted awards will be the editor’s choice of Player of the Year Award, as well as Best Tournament Player Award. Famous poker pros competing for these prestigious awards include names like Jake Cody, Sam Trickett, Robert Romanello, John Earnes and Chris Moorman.
