Coral’s Retail to Offer Cashless In-Play Betting via OpenBet’s BIP Solution

coralgamesBritish bookmaker Coral will soon be offering cashless in-play wagering via OpenBet’s Bet-in-Play (BIP) Terminals. The self-service tablet-based BIP Terminals combine capabilities with the Coral Connect fund cards, enabling customers to place cashless wagers on a wider range of betting products using a single account, as both in-shop and online betting products will be available in Coral’s retail environment.

OpenBet’s BIP Terminal is the first card-based in-play betting application to become available at Coral’s high street located betting outlets. It offers customers the convenience of cashless in-play wagering, as the software-only solution connects to the Coral Connect Card Fund system. The card system on the other hand, makes use of straightforward near-field communication (NFC) card that combines the cash mechanisms of a smartcard and a reader, while working in conjunction with a Personal Identification Number (PIN) system in authenticating a card user.

Aside from enhancing Coral’s retail betting offers, the introduction of the software-only OpenBet BIP Solution in the bookmaker’s in-shop features, would result to lower overhead costs when compared to the conventional self-service betting machines. OpenBet’s BIP connects to OpenBet’s SiteBuilder Platform, which gives Coral full control in selecting the sports events and betting markets to include as cashless in-play retail offers in a pre-built sportsbook. The SiteBuilder platform delivers dynamic contents to the self-service touchscreen tablets, as it has the capability to bring online betting options directly into the BIP Terminals.

Coral’s Group IT Director Adrian Thompson remarked that his company is determined to provide customers with a faultless user experience by guaranteeing innovations across all channels. Selecting OpenBet to work on the Coral Connect project by bringing the in-shop BIP solution to Coral’s retail outlets allowed the bookmaker to do just that.

He added that the sportsbook software company was an easy choice as partner for Coral’s multi-channel project, since OpenBet’s expertise, market-leading sportsbook product and open-platform that can integrate seamlessly with third party systems can all combine with Coral’s betting platform and will empower the bookmaker to advance its sportsbetting business.

Jeremy Thompson-Hill the CEO of OpenBet likewise expressed his pleasure in extending his company’s longstanding collaboration with the leading UK bookmaker. After doing work on the Coral Connect, they integrated OpenBet’s BIP Terminal, which demonstrates the software company’s commitment to continuously develop and evolve in bringing market-leading products that will help Coral and all other OpenBet customers in driving their business forward.

About OpenBet

OpenBet Technologies Ltd was originally founded as Orbis Technologies in 1996, until the NDS Group, a news company and digital TV technology provider acquired it in 2000. Under the leadership of CEO David Loveday, who then enjoyed the reputation of being the second longest-serving CEO in the UK gaming industry, Orbis Technology expanded and later rebranded as OpenBet, to reflect the company’s venture into the software betting platform business.

In 2011, a management-buyout backed by a private equity firm took place, and resulted to the transfer of ownership from NDS Group to the company’s management team led by CEO Loveday. In 2013, CEO Loveday stepped down and gave way to then Chief Operating Officer Jeremy Thompson-Hill in assuming leadership as new CEO of OpenBet. Through the years, OpenBet reaped accolades for being one of the best technology providers, including four consecutive eGR B2B awards as “Sports Betting Supplier of the Year.”
