Germany’s Gauselmann Group Acquires UK Games Provider Betcom Ltd
In a move to broaden its footprint in the UK territory, top German gaming machine manufacturer the Gauselmann Group has acquired Birmingham-based game content provider Betcom. The terms of the acquisition agreement though, were not disclosed; but the acquisition is deemed important for the Gaulsemann Group’s current initiatives at strengthening its UK extension.
After all, Betcom is a UK Category C/D/B2/B3 games provider distinguished for its proven track record of producing quality retailer-approved game titles, which to date continue to perform and to withstand the test of time. The British gaming company nurtures a goal of bringing its innovative gaming approach across multiple platforms, as it moves forward in the global gambling industry.
Jürgen Stühmeyer, a Gauselmann board member remarked that the Betcom Ltd acquisition would open up fresh outlooks for market development in the UK. Moreover, the addition of Betcom to Gauselmann’s global network of development teams that continuously work on new “made-by-Gauselmann” gaming content will not only increase the German company’s development capacities, but also create synergies with Blueprint Gaming. The latter, which was a lesser known British gaming company when it was acquired by the Gauselmann Group in 2008, had grown from strength to strength as many of its slot titles have become exceedingly popular in Western Europe.
On the same note, the Managing Director at Betcom, Alastair Harris believes that the newly formed partnership furnishes Betcom a great chance for advancing its own expansion perception and for developing new market prospective, as he agrees that the acquisition deal presents enormous future growth opportunities for the company.
Simon Barff the Managing Director of the other Gauselmann UK subsidiary, the Blueprint Machines division, stated that the acquisition of Betcom is a key element in their parent company’s strategy to fortify its position in Great Britain’s betting machine market. He commented that adding Betcom’s creative skills particularly in the Category C games would strengthen the market development for Gauselmann-branded gaming products, which the German company will introduce in UK’s key land-based amusement centers, pubs, and bingo halls.
