Playtech Purchases Another Gambling Company
ver since Bwin and PartyGaming launched their billion-dollar merger, dozens of other online gambling operators have been looking for ways to expand by acquiring and partnering with other companies. PlayTech is one such operator, and it has made two large acquisitions so far this year.
The company’s most recent transaction took place last week, as PlayTech purchased PT Turnkey for €140 million. The two companies will work together as PTTS, to provide online gaming solutions for land-based and online operators. PlayTech and PT Turnkey view this as an opportunity to grow on their own as individual companies and together as one, consolidated entity.
Earlier in the year, PlayTech purchased Intelligent Gaming Solution for the comparatively modest price of €5.5 million. IGS is a popular brand in the UK and Greece, giving PlayTech a bigger presence in both of these markets. The partnership will also see PlayTech working its way into the land-based gambling market.
PlayTech has also partnered with the American company, Scientific Games, giving the online casino operator a great deal of leeway when positioning itself to operate within the American online gambling market when it is finally opened.
