Rabcat Gaming is a name we’ve come across the industry on several occasions and we had a chance to try some of their video slot games for real play, but we can’t say they managed to impress us.
They operate under Microgaming’s Quickfire platform, so the Rabcat Gaming slots can be found in almost all instant play Microgaming operators.
The reason why their games weren’t attractive to us were the generally low payouts they offer, both in base play and in the bonus features.
On the other hand on a design and visual level their new slot releases can be compared to any other popular games on the market. When we saw that they launched a new video slot game, we decided to see what it was about, but didn’t expect to see anything special.
As always the designers implemented top quality animations and symbol details on Frozen Diamonds, making sure it would be attractive to the everyday player. What was our main point of interest was located in the pay table and the bonus features.
As always the pay table was disappointing with a 50 x total bet maximum payout for 5 wilds on one of the 20 pay lines. The bonus feature offered looked nothing special also, awarding 5 or 10 free spins, with extra wilds on the third reel and a chance for extra free spins to be won, which would have a doubled payout.
Even so the maximum payout is only raised to 100 x total bet which was still not attractive for us. What made us try this slot for real play was the Free Falls design used and the fact that the free spins were triggered after every third consecutive win.
With the wild symbol landing every third or fourth spin on the reels this didn’t seem like too hard and to our surprise it wasn’t. Frozen Diamonds managed to earn our sympathies by awarding several free spins rounds in a short number of spins, awarding decent payouts in each one ranging from 50 – 70 x total bet.

What We love
There are several details that players will find attractive in this game. The first are the visual effects and the high level of details used to every visual aspect of the game. The second would be the Free Falls design which can create several consecutive winning combinations at the cost of only one spin.
This feature correlates to the free spins bonus round, which is triggered after only 3 consecutive wins, instead of the standard 4 or 5 on most other video slot games on the market. Even with a weak pay table like Frozen Diamonds has, decent payouts are awarded thanks to the 2 or 3 extra wilds added on the third reel.
What we Do not Like
The only detail we don’t find attractive in Frozen Diamonds is the pay table. The maximum payouts are too small to attract the everyday players on the reels of this game.
Worth Playing?
Yes. Why do we say this, you may ask? It’s very simple if you look at the entire game design. The weak pay table lowers the game variance on low to medium, with an accent on low.
