Unibet Breaks Revenue Record
The Unibet Group is rooted in the gambling business, but the company does not want to gamble with its profits. The gambling industry does involve a lot of risk, and there is an enormous amount of competition for player funds. Just as gamblers go on hot streaks, so do companies involved with gambling. The Unibet Group definitely had a hot fourth-quarter in 2015. The company’s winnings were the highest on record for fourth-quarters. Unibet is strongly positioned for 2016, and the company surely is going to build on the massive revenues generated.
The fourth-quarter saw an increase of 43% from the prior year, and the total amount is £111.4 million. The entire year delivered a tremendous £354.1 million. In 2014 the company earned £312 million. The Unibet Group likely exceeded its own internal expectations for success.
Revenues are not the same as profit, as anyone involved or familiar with business know. A company could suffer from losses when record revenue generation does not overcome the significant costs of excessive expenditures. Such is not the case with Unibet. The company has turned a huge profit. The fourth-quarter yielded a profit of £26.2 million, and this is an increase of £6.3 million from the previous quarter.
A lot can be written about why Unibet did so well for the fourth-quarter. To a degree, an expanded interest in gambling has contributed to such growth. With so many different companies involved with the internet gambling industry, Unibet does have to do something more than just riding a wave of increased popularity in gambling. Unibet surely is doing something right in terms of promotions and customer service. In order to generate high volumes of revenues and profits, a lot of people have to patronize Unibet. That does seem to be the case. Again, Unibet is onto something right. Revenues have increased tremendously as a result.
Unibet does have to sustain its profits in order to be a true success. Choosing to just continue on the same path is not necessarily a bad thing. As long as revenues continue to maintain their current excellent pace, then the company should not shift gears. Conversely, if what works right now starts to falter in the coming year, changes do have to be implemented. A common mistake so many companies make is they do not perform the necessary changes when the time comes to shift gears and go into a different direction. The management of Unibet, hopefully, is not prone to making such a disastrous decision as staying on a faltering path.
The end of the first-quarter of 2016 will eventually be here. When the quarter’s end arrives, all will be revealed regarding whether or not Unibet is on the right path.
