Elk Studios has released several similarly themed slot machines already, and Book of Toro adds one more title to the series. It’s the same in every game, when it comes to the main characters (Matador and Toro the bull), but the setting will change, as we can see in this case. For this game, which tries to get a certain category of players, they’ve chosen a location in Ancient Egypt.

First of all, the Book of Toro (red T on the cover) will be the main trigger for the slot’s features, acting as wild and scatter. Other important symbols include the Toro Wild and Mummies. Its regulars start with five Royals, 10 to Ace, and then continue with the Scarab, Horus, Eye of Ra, and the Adventurer (Matador character).

Some of the features should be familiar to you, if you’ve played Book-style slots in the past. Book of Toro has that kind of setup, with 10 active lines used on 5×3 reels. You might get expanding symbols to help out, along with other features, but the regular side of the game hasn’t changed, you still need 3+ symbols for a combo.

Special Features

Regardless of the type of wild that you will get, and there are three variants inside, all of them can act as substitutes and this helps out in making the slot more profitable for you, at least in the long run. If a wild forms its own combo, it pays as much as the top symbol.

10 to 20 free spins trigger via 3 to 5 scattered Books. Here, you get a special symbol, which has the ability to expand and take over its reels (paying on all lines if you get it on 2-3+ reels).

Book of Toro looks amazing for a slot machine that’s in the Book category, and it offers more features than its competitors, which might be enough to give it an advantage. The 95% RTP would be its biggest issue.

Based on my experience with their slot machines, I expect every release they put out to have excellent graphics, and more often than not the features are interesting as well (definitely the case in Book of Toro as well). One thing to watch out for, is the RTP level, as in their recent slots they changed the standard from 96% to 95%.
