Cloud Quest is set in a city in the sky. It is a theme entirely of Play N’ Go’s own creation, with elements of fantasy alongside some futuristic city floating technology, magic, and monsters. It is an impressive theme, which is very complex and included cleverly in the design.

Developer

Play ‘N Go is a Swedish company and a forerunner in the slot industry. They are one of the more experienced slot developers, founded in 1997. They have released over 70 games since, which have earned them a spot as one of the leading developers. A lot of their recent success is due to the inroads they made into the mobile platform.

Design

Cloud Quest is a 5×5 slot with a large square of reels. It is a well-designed slot, which looks excellent. It has a modern appearance with crisp graphics, animations, and a great use of space and colour. The background image is of a city in the sky. It is all very bright and colourful, and is a nice piece of artwork. On the left side of the reels there is an animated character, this is one of the heroes in the game there are a few of them that alternate.

They are all animated into life, with quality animations. On the right of the reels, there is a super power meter, more on this in the special feature section. The panel is located under the reels. It is silver with light blue buttons. The panel is modern looking and does well to complete the design.

How to play

Cloud Quest is a cascading slot with unconventional gameplay. It will pay a win if three matching symbols land across or diagonal from one another, anywhere on the reels.

The reels will begin cascading when the player presses the spin button. It is not a replenishing cascading slot, and when the player makes a win, the symbols are removed and others fall down to take their place, but more symbols will not drop down from the top, as is common in other slots.

Special Features

Cloud Quest has a lot of features, which use the cascading slot game mechanics. Whenever a win is made the middle symbol is replaced by a wild that will help the player make other wins.

This can start a chain reaction of wins as the reels fill with more and more wilds. When the player makes wins with the power stone symbol they fill up the super power meter on the right of the reels. After the spin, a selector will go around the meter and stop somewhere. If it stops in the lit up yellow area the player triggers a reel respin feature with one of four variation.

There is also a free spins feature. Before each spin one of the rows will be chosen at random and bonus written behind it. If the player clears this row by making wins, which gets rid of symbols then they unlock this feature. It sees the player battle monsters with the hero that was on the side of the reels.

Maximum Payout

Cloud Quest has a simple jackpot, which the player wins by clearing all of the symbols on the reels. If the player clears all of symbols than they will already have won some tasty winnings, but doing so will rewarded a further $20,000. Then with the multipliers and the other reel respin features there are even bigger wins than this available.

Cloud Quest is a great game with an immersive theme. It is a cascading slot, with a bunch of features a nice design and some great winning potential. Play N’ Go have not released many titles this year but if they have been holding out to develop Cloud Quest no one can complain.
