It’s going to be a classic if you go by the symbols that have found room on the reels, but the design style will remind you of 70s graphics. It might look dated somewhere else, but here it’s well designed and looks great for anyone loving the retro style.

Dream Diver’s symbols will start us off with the stacked wild, then we have the Pick Me symbols, Cat Wilds, Diamond (top symbol), Lucky 7s, Bells, Apples, Plums, Oranges, and the Cherries.

A developer that’s been founded back in 2012, ELK Studios is taking its sweet time designing new slots, and they seem to come up with one new title each month. They only have about 56 titles released so far, but it seems to be working for them, as the quality seems to be high every single time.

How To Play It

As far as wagers are concerned, ELK Studios has a certain way of doing things, involving the use of 100 fixed coins, with the total amount wagered changing between £0.20 and £100 per spin.

Dream Diver uses a system with 178 connecting pay lines, which you will find on 5×4 reels. The game area is big enough, but it’s using a more limited form of the ways to win system (symbols need to be on adjacent reels and connected to each other horizontally or diagonally).

Special Features

Among the various other features that Dream Diver can trigger, there is a Cat Wild which you can use as a substitute when appropriate (works only with regular symbols).

Stacked Wilds are also present in the game, and they come with an extra feature, a respin where the triggering symbol becomes sticky. It’s also nudged into position, so it ends up covering the four positions of the reel. You get these wilds on reels 2-4, and additional respins can be won if you get more wilds to land in the other available positions.

The final symbol is the Pick Me scatter, which you will use when it lands three times in a single spin. It will get you paid, or it will give you access to a bonus feature.

It’s a picking bonus game, from start to finish, but it’s laid out across 6 different levels. As you make your picks, you collect winnings and any multipliers you might come across, and eventually you will get paid. Several possible results will come when you make your picks:

• Increases the multiplier for current and future levels;
• Heart gives you one extra life;
• Next sign allows you to go to the next level;
• Clock ends the bonus game

Get to the 6^th level, and you find the Dream Wheel there, on an alarm clock. The spin will reveal an extra multiplier, added to the existing one, and used to boost winnings.

You’re going to find it fairly easy to approach, as a medium volatility slot machine, but with a lower than expected RTP (95%). Payouts will go up to 2,500x the stake, which is as expected for a game like this.

Summary

Overall, it’s one of the more interesting ELK Studios slots I’ve seen lately, particularly since it blends in some popular mechanics (wild respins), with a unique story, good graphics, and it’s not too risky to play either. On the other hand, I’m not a fan of the 95% RTP, and it’s enough for me not to recommend this game.
