Game of Thrones: Power Stacks is a branded game, obviously, and it’s actually the second time that Microgaming has come out with a slot machine that is based on this TV series. The first time was in 2014, and it was a bad design for a branded title, but now we’re seeing a version that actually includes images with some of the show’s top actors, and the rest of the graphics look good as well.

Special symbols would include a number of coins made out of different metals, along with the game logo as the wild, and the Iron Throne as a scatter. Top symbols range from John Snow, to Daenerys, Sansa, the Night King, and Tormund. The four lower paying symbols feature heraldry that is related to four houses.

Developer

It’s a partnership that has brought us the Power Stacks version of Game of Thrones, between Microgaming and Slingshot Studios. The latter were the ones that actually designed the game, and they did a great job with it. This partnership has also produced games like African Legends and Cash of Kingdoms.

How To Play It

Once you select the bet, you’re good to go. The minimum required per spin is $0.20, while the maximum bet can reach $20.

The game has 5×4 reels, with a total of 40 active lines. As usual, you need 3, 4, or 5 matching symbols, landing next to each other, and starting from the leftmost position on a line. This will get you paid, but there are also special features which will do that, in a different manner. More on that below.

Special Features

The wild symbol will feature the logo of the game, and it will be used as a substitute when possible. You can combine these wilds with regular symbols, to form winning combinations. The rest of the requirements for combos still apply. There is a way to get paid directly by the wild, when they appear 3 or more times on a line, and arranged in a way that allows for a combo to form. A 5-wild combo will pay 25x the stake, quite a bit more than a regular combo (7.5x the stake for the top symbol).

The Iron Throne is going to act as scatter, a symbol that both pays up to 100x the stake, and triggers the free spins. You get 15 free spins from it, with a 2x multiplier that will apply to all wins.

Finally, we have the Link & Win respins, which is a streak respin bonus, just with Microgaming’s own name on it. You need 6+ Coins on the reels, for the feature to trigger. The triggering symbols become sticky, while the rest of the positions are empty, and you try to get new symbols on them. You start with 3 respins, but the number resets whenever new coins land.

There are regular cash prizes that you can claim, but there are also fixed jackpots, coming from Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Valyrian Coins. The prizes go from 20x to 2,5000x if Link & Win triggers during paid spins, or from 40x to 5,000x during free spins.

Maximum Payouts

The potential of Game of Thrones: Power Stacks is excellent, up to 25,000x the stake being paid in a single round. It’s a big improvement over the 4,000x jackpots that were possible in previous Game of Thrones slots, but the volatility will be higher as a result. Its RTP is as high as 96.20%.
