Hammerfall Slot Machine – Free Play & Review
Hammerfall is a branded slot machine, inspired by a Swedish metal band, and coming from a Swedish developer. They’ve covered similar bands in the past, in other slots of theirs, and they’ve done a pretty good job at it so far. They went with a fantasy-style design for this one, so it’s not an actual band-themed set of symbols that you’re seeing. It’s a big game area, 7×7 symbols with Cluster Pays.
Getting to the symbols, we find there a mix of images with the H logo (wilds), Helmet, Sun Shield, Hammers, and Moon Shield, for the top paying positions. The low ones show off five gems, in muted colors, of red, yellow, blue, purple, and green.
Developer
Play n GO has launched a number of these rock themed slots so far, and alongside Hammerfall we also find titles like Sabaton, House of Doom, Demon, or Black Mamba. The company is based in Sweden, and they offer more than 200 slot machines for online casinos to use. Though the quality is almost always very high in their games, one thing to watch out for is the use of an RTP range, allowing the casino to pick the value of the average return.
Basic Information
How To Play It
The complete betting range that Hammerfall allows you to use, is going to be anywhere between $0.20 and $100. A list of bet values is shown at the bottom, for you to choose from.
Using 7×7 symbols, so 49 visible each round, Hammerfall requires that you get clusters of 5 or more matching symbols. These symbols need to be grouped, touching horizontally or vertically in order to be a cluster. The wins increase if you have more symbols in the cluster, with the maximum payout obtained with at least 15 symbols.
Special Features
Cascades are included, and they trigger whenever a cluster forms and gets you paid. The winning symbols are removed immediately, and others land in empty positions. This can potentially lead to more wins.
All winning symbols are collected, using a special Hammer-shaped meter, on the left side. A total of 25 winning symbols are required, to charge the hammer fully, and to gain access to a Song Feature associated with the current world that you’re in. Get to 50 winning symbols though, which would be a full Overcharge, and you trigger the Hammer High bonus.
The Song features are below. Once you trigger one, you move on to the next world on the list, and the Song feature will be different the next time you get it.
- Twilight Princess: adds a single 2×2 Mega Wild to the reels.
- Second to None: transforms all high value positions, into a single type of symbol (also high value).
- And Yet I Smile: removes low value symbols.
As for Hammer High, this bonus feature will trigger a free spin, where all three types of Song features are going to be activated, one after the other.
Some help may also come from the H logo wilds, coming in blue and red versions. These are substitutes, able to contribute to all types of clusters, just by being present next to a group of matching symbols.
There will be random features triggering as well, such as the Super Tiles and Lightning Wilds, or the Destruction bonus from some non-winning spins, with all its variants.
Maximum Payouts
It’s got truly impressive potential, paying as much as 30,000x the stake, if everything goes the player’s way. Highly volatile, it manages to keep the RTP in check, at 96.20% (RTP range is in use though, so casinos may reduce it).
Summary
Hammerfall has the right top jackpot, RTP, design, even a long list of features that should keep it fun to play. It’s also highly volatile though, and I wouldn’t recommend it to casual players.
