A great design is not something that I expect to find in a Big Time Gaming slot machine, as most of their focus appears to be on the engine, rather than the visuals. They’re not doing much for the theme here either, as they’re simply using images of gemstones for their symbols.

The game area is not huge, it gets 5×5 symbols, and there are a total of 7 different gems that can land there. They’re colored in teal, yellow, orange, green, blue, red, and purple.

Developer

If I were to name a single developer that has had a huge impact on the online gaming industry in recent years, then that award would go to Big Time Gaming. They created the Megaways engine, now in use in hundreds of highly volatile slot machines, and they continued to innovate with other games as well. The Megaclusters mechanic, which we see implemented in Millionaire Rush, is one example.

How To Play It

The Stake option is the one you want here, allowing you to spend between $0.20 and $20 for each spin that you trigger.

You start off with 5×5 reels, so there are 25 symbols visible initially. It’s a Cluster Pays engine, where you form combinations with 5 or more matching symbols which are grouped together. There is a twist as well, the Megaclusters mechanic, which we will explain below.

Special Features

The Megacluster engine allows the player to expand the game area, by removing winning symbols from the initial clusters that are formed, and then replacing them with 4 smaller symbols in each of those positions. Reactions occur after each wave of wins, and they’re responsible with the removal of those winning symbols.

Another important part of the game, is the Megatrail, which you see on the left side. It’s got a total of 12 rungs, with randomized prizes and features presented on it. The prizes could go up to 1,000x the stake, plus there are 6 free spins that can be claimed when you get high enough on it. 3+ random bonuses are also available on the trail.

Some of the bonuses that can be obtained through that Megatrail:

• up to 10 random wilds;

• up to 5x multiplier wilds added;

• transformations of certain regular symbols into wilds;

• a Mega wild can be added, with 2×2 positions occupied;

• Turn regular symbols of a certain type into 4 smaller ones;

• Symbol upgrades;

• Round multipliers of up to 11x;

• Symbol duplication (adds a row or column of symbols of the same type);

• Symbol explosions (a type of symbol explodes and removes everything from its row or column);

• Explosions which remove symbols;

• 50:50, to remove half of the symbols from the screen;

• Max Megaclusters (all symbols turn into 4 smaller ones).

If you get to the 7^th rung on the trail, you obtain 6 free spins. The Megatrail is boosted for this mode, now paying up to 2,000x. You get 6+ random bonuses on it as well.

Maximum Payouts

Big Time Gaming’s new slot machine doesn’t disappoint, and it manages to pay very well. Rewards of up to 55,260x the stake are paid at the end of a round, and obviously this will be a high volatility slot, but with a fair RTP (96.44%).

Summary

Overall, Millionaire Rush looks like an excellent option if you’re into risky games. Big Time Gaming’s innovations are visible inside, and they make for a great experience if you don’t mind the volatility.
