Pumpkin Smash is an Yggdrasil Gaming release and a game where two different themes mix together, resulting in this unique design. The action takes place in Mexico and it revolves around piñatas that are shaped like carved pumpkins, the ones that make appearances each year during Halloween. The smashing of the pumpkin is easier to explain that way, since they’re considered piñatas.

The game has its own local flavors to pile on, so the reels are also getting multiple skulls of Mexican men and women, which are very well designed. Graphics and feature wise you will find that they do very well. Legend of the White Snake Lady is a favorite of mine based on those two, but there are many others to check out, such as Seasons or Orient Express. They only have a couple of dozen slots right now.

How To Play It

To play Pumpkin Smash, you need enough wagered each round that each active line gets at least $0.01, while the maximum possible will be $5. Because you have 20 lines active, the number being fixed, you can set up a wager of $0.20 to $100.

It’s a standard setup that you get in Pumpkin Smash, with 5×3 symbols used to form 20 fixed lines. The Plus button which you get in the bottom left area will allow you to access the paytable and other options.

Special Features

Wild logos, included in symbols which use gold and purple in their design, will sometimes appear on the reels and will be used as substitutes when that happens. The regular symbols are the only ones getting help from wilds, so the scatters are on their own when it comes to doing their job.

As for the scatters, those are the symbols showing you the Mexican carved pumpkin, sporting a local hat and the Bonus logo at the bottom. By appearing two times or more in the base game, the symbol will trigger for you a bonus game that gives you a number of pumpkins, one for each triggering scatter.

Between 2 and 20 prizes are given for each pumpkin that is smashed, and the bigger it is, the more prizes it has inside. You will get a cash prize that varies between 5 and 2,000 coins, free spins or multipliers that apply to one random symbol. To make sure you get the free spins, you need at least three triggering scatters.
