Play Tarzan Slot Demo (Free Game) & Review
Last years Microgaming’s video slots have all contained fairly flashy 3D graphics, and more immature themes of late. Staying true to form, the leading casino software developer has produced another slot along that line in their new Tarzan slot.
You will find that the Tarzan slot may be somewhat cheesy, but it doesn’t remotely look as child-friendly as it may have done if it were developed with Disney on-board. Suffice to say it has not been, and instead this new Microgaming slot is more akin to the original Edgar Rice Burroughs tale.
This slot is colourful, it is creative, but does it have what it takes to make your playing experience a memorable or prosperous one?
Developers
What do we mean when we say that Microgaming has developed a certain type of slot of late? Well, if you look at their popular releases in the past, they have all been 243 ways to win games, and contain modest, although hardly 3D graphics. Their themes have also been designed for a more mature audience.
Cue the last couple of slots released by Microgaming, and you will find that they contain more fantasy and fairytale like themes (such as Tarzan), as well as quality 3D imagery and animation. The Tarzan slot is a prime example of the road Microgaming now seems to be taking with its games.
Basic Information
How to play Tarzan Slot Game
Tarzan is not a 243 ways to win slot, which is Microgaming’s usual bread and butter. Instead, the slot has been designed as a 5-reel, 40-line slot. None of those paylines can be altered via the wagering menu, which barely fits in with the theme of the slot.
You can alter your coin values, and the number of coins you stake per spin, though. Tarzan is going to cost you between £0.40 per spin, and £40 per spin in total. That is a pretty steep wager considering that there are cheaper slots out there with more paylines to offer you.
Features
Wild symbols: The Tarzan logo is the wild symbol in this game. As a wild, it can substitute for all other symbols in the slot, barring scatter icons.
The Tarzan logo can appear stacked in this game, and is the second best paying symbol after the scatter icon. Wilds are not inherently special in the Tarzan slot machine.
Scatter icons: Scatter symbols can trigger a Bonus Wheel feature when 3 or more appear anywhere on the reels simultaneously. Players will also pocket between 3x and 6x their total bet for 3 scatters, between 6x and 12x their stake for 4 scatters, or between 9x and 18x their bet for 5 scatter symbols.
The number of scatters you locate can also play a part in determining the jackpot you can win in the bonus game.
Bonus Wheel: Once you have landed 3 or more scatters, the bonus wheel feature begins. In this bonus, players can win multipliers, the slot’s non-progressive jackpot, the Pick-a-Potamus instant win game, or a free spins feature.
Free spins bonus: Tarzan’s free spins feature can see players able to start the bonus with a total of 12 free games. During this feature, players can also prosper from Rolling Reels and Growing Wilds.
The former offers increasing multipliers for consecutive spins, whilst the Growing Wilds feature can see players land extra and special wilds on the reels during gameplay.
Pick-a-Potamus bonus: When this feature is triggered, a dozen or so pink hippopotami will bathe in a mudhole. Players must select at least 2 of them to pocket instant cash prizes.
Hippopotami will either offer you a cash prize and let you pick again, or they will offer you a cash prize and end the bonus round.
Maximum pay-outs
The wild can see you win up to 20x your total bet, whilst the scatters determine which jackpot prize you can win via the bonus wheel.
All are non-progressive, but you can win either 200x, 400x, or 1,000x your total bet by landing 3, 4 or 5 scatters, respectively, and then winning the jackpot prize on the bonus wheel.
Summary
Tarzan contains decent features, and is worth a look. There are a lot of similarities between this game and the Jungle Jim: El Dorado slot released by Microgaming rather recently. This is another slot which fits the “child-friendly” bill we keep giving them.
Tarzan is playable, although many players are not going to be too happy at wagering £0.40 per spin for 40 lines, when there are bigger Microgaming slots out there offering just as many features, and 243 paylines for £0.30 per spin.
